Home <3

There have been so many things that have happened since I’ve last written.

Um, we bought our house and we are all moved in! As in closed-and-moved-into our new house. I am writing this at my L-shaped desk in the den. There’s a fireplace, a book shelf, plants, my new record player.. It feels divine.

I have finally gotten most of the things updated onto the blog. I didn’t have space to upload the so many adventures and thoughts and feelings I’ve been hiding in the sanctity of my notes app.

That will be no longer!

One of the Christmas presents to myself this year was buying a domain in order to be able to keep the blog updated. Now that I have done that, the original purpose of the blog is fulfilled once again. It is a sketchpad for my thoughts. It is a scrapbook of my adventures. It is a virtual catalog of my very own library. It is important to me, and I am so excited to be uploading again. This space is sacred to me and I would love to keep up with it.

Now I can do so, especially now that the initial flurry of activity that entails moving into, closing, and unpacking in our new house is over; I can do that!

It is liberating.

I haven’t lived in a house since I was a teenager. I feel like I have space to not only breathe, but grow. Link is a completely different dog now that he can go outside and run to his heart’s content whenever he wants to. He runs and guards our enormous yard, and the cats are also more than content to have the space. We ordered extra hammocks in the windows. Ophelia even has a heating pad between the hammock and the soft bed (don’t ever say my cats aren’t spoiled).

I have the rumblings of a fire going in the fireplace, although I would love to refer to it as a hearth. I am spinning vinyl on my new record player in this absolutely delightful nook I’ve made for it beside the fireplace. As a matter of fact, I think every title image of each blog post from here until I declare otherwise (aside from adventure/travel posts) will be a random photo from the house. I am really proud of what we’ve done to our home so far and would love to share it here, gradually, over time.

I still have a couple more adventures to talk about, but trust that it is coming. For now, I’m just content with all of these exciting changes in life.

More on those details to come :)
