NYD

It is New Year’s Day! When 2023 started, I wasn’t sure what exactly it would hold for me. I’m pleasantly surprised to be saddened to let it go. It was an incredible year. We got engaged, we traveled a lot, we are buying a house, went to so many concerts, and made new friends. We celebrated major life milestones! It just might be my favorite year so far. We are anticipated to close on the house at the end of this month, so we are starting 2024 off strong and significant.

With the ushering in of the very new, sparkly new year; we have finished our Winter Solstice ritual.

We wrote thirteen wishes on thirteen different little papers, burning one each day until we’ve arrived at New Year’s Day. The surviving slip of paper is our projected wish for the year. Mine was, in summary, for calm and peace. My partner’s was to make lots of money (love that for him).

I also made an obligatory New Year’s Day friendship bracelet fifteen minutes before the midnight of all midnights, ushering in a year that I will get to go to the Eras Tour again. I had my heart set on going as the Reputation era, but the earthy, airy spirit within me wants to go as Evermore. As I’m writing this, I’ve drawn the blinds and lit five candles all across the room.. and I’ll just let you guess which album I have playing right now in the background.

I’ll let you know what I think about which costume to do.
